EMIKO JANE ISHII
Emiko Jane Ishii is a British-born Japanese actress whose dedication to storytelling has defined her international career across film, television, theatre, and commercials. Known for her authenticity, strength, and emotional depth, she brings both power and vulnerability to every role she undertakes.

Her screen credits span leading roles in independent films such as Yakuza Girl to major international productions including Marvel’s Secret Invasion and Netflix’s The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself. Emiko also appeared in the Bollywood feature films Mad About Dance and Bhangra Paa Le, and recently showcased her physical artistry as a stunt double in Apartment 7A and the award-winning short LVRA: Soft Like Steel — merging performance and movement with cinematic precision.
On stage, Emiko has toured the UK with acclaimed productions including Bring on the Bollywood and EKA, earning praise for her dynamic stage presence and cultural versatility. Trained in Karate, Eskrima, and weaponry, she integrates her martial arts background seamlessly into her acting, bringing truth and physical authenticity to action and drama alike. As a second-generation British-born Japanese woman, her journey carries deep personal meaning. In an industry that once told her “there is no place for a Japanese girl like you,” she has forged her own path — using her craft to champion diversity and redefine representation on screen.

Before stepping into acting full-time, Emiko earned her BA from King’s College London (with a year abroad at UCSB, California) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Practical Filmmaking from Met Film School, graduating with a Professional Practice Award. Her early work behind the camera — from pre-production and casting to assistant directing and camera operation — gave her a holistic understanding of the filmmaking process. When offered the choice between continuing as a 3rd AD or joining the Bollywood feature Mad About Dance, she followed her passion for performance — and never looked back.
Now based in Los Angeles, Emiko continues to expand her international career with forthcoming projects including Blow Out, A Man Is Dead, and Distant Harmony. Her professionalism, artistry, and cross-cultural insight make her a compelling presence both on screen and on stage — a true storyteller who leads with passion, precision, and purpose.

Emiko's journey is particularly significant as a second-generation British-born Japanese woman in a field that often overlooks diverse narratives. Her fierce determination to elevate the representation of East Asian performers speaks volumes about her character. Despite early discouragement, she forged her own path in the industry, pursuing her passion and showcasing the richness of her heritage through classical Japanese dance and innovative choreography.
As she prepares for her forthcoming projects, including Blow Out and A Man is Dead Emiko continues to inspire not just through her performances, but through her professionalism, energy, and unwavering dedication to excellence.
