About Emiko
Emiko is a multi-disciplined Japanese Actress, Action Performer, Dancer, Choreographer & Instructor . Her dedication to her craft and extensive skill set has landed her work on Film, TV, Theatre, Motion Capture and Commercials. Her drive to work in the arts was triggered by being told by an acting agent when she was young that there is no place for a Japanese girl in the entertainment industry. The lack of opportunities sparked her desire to change how the industry perceived East Asian performers.

Her identity as a second-generation British born Japanese valuing culture, influences the way she approaches her craft and career. After graduating from King's College London with a BA in American & Film Studies with a Year Abroad at University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB). She furthered her studies with a Diploma in Filmmaking at MetFilm School where she graduated with a Professional Practice Award. She worked in pre to post production until she was presented with an opportunity to work on a feature film as a third AD or an actress in a Bollywood feature film M.A.D. The rest is history.

She has 18 years of professional performance & teaching experience all over the UK & Abroad. Her passion to create opportunities for Asian performers inspired her to create International Dance Company Epika Dance where she is the Artistic Director and Choreographer. In the 10 years she has run Epika, she has trained and mentored dancers to perform on live stage, music videos, corporate and award shows as well as teaching. As a natural dance instructor, she also teaches dance intervention and movement at SEN schools (Special Educational Needs) and conducts international dance workshops. The most common feedback she receives are her professionalism, positive energy and her dedication to provide the best quality of work. With her knowledge, skillset & managerial experience, you will not find a more all rounded artist.
